Shalom. It's a word many of us have heard of at somepoint in our lives; the Hebrew greeting word meaning "peace."

Recently, I learned that "peace" is a shortened definition of the word. The definition I heard the other day was, "The confidence that God is going to make all things right." If we have confidence that all things will be okay, then we have peace! And this is what I'm striving for in my own life. Complete peace, no matter the current circumstances.

In our world, where we unfortunately have so much violence and hatred, I'm clinging to my newfound belief of "shalom". That even though we might be sick, in active addiction, ridden with anxiety, struggling with poverty or loneliness, that it isn't going to last forever. Call me a dreamer, call me naive, but I do believe a day is coming where there will be peace. I do believe and trust that God will make all things right.

This holiday season, I wish you and your families complete and trusting peace, lacking in nothing. Where do you find your peace?
